American Airlines flights from Fort Lauderdale to Haiti were cancelled due to election related violence and Port au Prince airport closure. My sister Jayne (legal team) has a contact person in Haiti, Alain who provided hourly updates. Based on his reports that he would have to pick us up at the airport on 'his motorcycle' due to UN barricades of roads in Port au Prince and risks for the women associated with travel to BAI or KOFAVIV offices a decision was made to reschedule the delegation for February 2011, travel dates tbd. The election run-off is scheduled for January 16, 2011. The newly elected president is scheduled to take office February 7, 2011.
