Love Letter

Dear Mentor,

Before starting saying anything about my life, I would like to highlight how happy I am for this opportunity. I believe taking part in this program will help me improve my writing skills and thus my ability to act as a voice for those who didn't have the same opportunities as I did.

I consider myself a lucky person. I have a beautiful family that has always provided me with all the love and care I needed and I am always surrounded by wonderful friends who inspire me to be a better person. I also constantly strive to make the most of the opportunities life presents to me.

I am a Brazilian 19 year-old Law student. The reason I chose Law as a major was realizing that Law is a hugely powerful tool to make a difference in people's lives as well as to promote justice. I don't think, however, that a juridical approach is enough to solve the problems we face and that is why I keep trying to open up my horizons. Currently, I am in an exchange program in Canada, studying Political Science, Sociology and Criminology. Studying languages, reading, traveling and volunteering are some of my strongest passions.

I am really looking forward to working with you. I hope I will learn the most from what you have to teach and that we will have a great time sharing our experiences. I am sure it will be a very rich and fruitful partnership.

Sincerely yours,

Thais.
