Thieves putting lives of innocent people in danger

On 7 April 2013, there was a case of mistaken identity that nearly caused the death of our neighbour’s son.
The young man had spent his day out playing with friends. He came back late in the evening. He was sneaking close to our fence.
Unfortunately our son saw him and thought it was a thief. This was because two days before, some thieves had attacked him close to the gate and took away his clothes. Our son took a stone and hit him.
Fortunately he was not seriously injured. We took him to hospital and informed his parents of what had happened. The issue was resolved amicably. However I still think that the incident could not have happened if thieves were not causing havoc in the community. Walking late in the evening is becoming dangerous. People may suspect that you are a thief and hit you or you may meet thieves and they can rob you.
