The Journey so far

My background story started as a young girl who was denied of education due to son preference within the family. I started a sisters club when I was sixteen years in my church just for me and other young girls who were in my shoes to find solution to our problem. We contributed money among ourselves to take care of our education. The contribution we revolved among each other to go for lessons and to take our external exams but we were not allowed to do so because they misunderstood us and stopped us from continuing despite the fact that we hid it from people. Eventually our parents got to know and they became furious and told us the implications for the church and the society which they said could lead to disobedient to parents and elders. We could only record 5% success. Another thing that made me have passion is my sister 's death who died as a result of too much burden that was put on her by the husband who would not go out to work but left everything into my sister's hand to do.I evetually got my first degree in 2005 . Since then I have determined within my self to always have empathy for any woman or girl child that comes my way and to fight their cause within my own capacity especially women from the grassroot who are mostly marginalised.

The journey that led me into pulseWire online community is the joy that I heard from a friend that gave me the information that our voice will be heard and our capacity will be built through web 2.0 to link other women with similar experiences and share our mind with like minded women.

It really fixed into my personal vision in the sense that it is all about empowering women globally and my own vision is to empower women and girls within my own reach to complement the efforts of women activist who are at the fore front in reducing gender based violence or any other discrimination against women.
