My Vision-Transformative Leadership

My personal vision in life is to become a leader, to work diligently to ensure that I am able to change people’s orientation about women ‘s subordination’s. I want to maintain my purposeful sense of direction and instill discipline through love by nurturing instincts of sound judgment in many women and girls. I want to give hope and be a role model to whoever I come in contact with .I love to be a good researcher, who will research into the root causes of gender violence and poverty experienced by women. I want to join other women activist to pull down the patriarchal structure of our society. I will like to work at the grassroots with the indigenous people because that is where the cultural practices that are working against women are rooted.
I will like to make my own contribution towards combating violence including raising the voices of other women in the community as an activist, building on this means I am building on the legacy of powerful women in the past who have fought the cause of women in the history of my Country. I want the needs, rights and perception of grassroots women to be adequately reflected in both local and international research/studies for proper interventions.
In my determination to see women empowered. I have taken steps in line with my vision to work directly with women at the grassroots in two states of my country. This led to the formation of an organization named Centre for Grassroots Women Advancement and Development. Activities carried out in this Organization include, assisting women in the Area of reproductive health through awareness creation, trainings and Education; Economic empowerment through income generating activities in the area of farming, cooperative societies for traders; Advocacy meetings on the promotion of the rights of women in the community

I want to be a voice of our correspondent because I believe that my awareness about whatever experience shared or idea gained through other people’s advice will increase my knowledge and bring about the change I desire. This will also give me access to information and other resources that will be useful in bringing about the desired transformation in my life and in the lives of other women around me. Being a correspondent on this network will also enable me to share with the world what goes on at the grassroot in one of the most populous nation in Africa. Another very important reason why I want to be a voice on our correspondent is to attract the contribution of partners in the same line of vision with me, this will encourage collaboration and strengthen us in our resolve to ensure that the legal framework necessary to promote gender equality and eliminate all forms of discrimination against women is achieved. I will become a transformative leader without allowing intimidation from any quarter. Pulse Wire will provide the avenue for people to suggest solution to the mismanagement of funds allocated by the government to the development of the rural communities as it makes no sense “to make profit from human misery”.

I know Pulse Wire will link me up to community of friends who will make comments and useful advice, idea or constructive criticism that will keep me going on my vision for life. I believe pulse wire can aid me in assisting these women, by helping me in networking for funds for research and trainings, office equipment and training materials for these Women. I envision a society where there is education for girls ,adult education for women, poverty alleviation through self-employment and access to land for farming, equal access to loan and increase in the number of women in decision making capacity. This will improve the socio-economic status and self image of women ,Pulse Wire can assist these women by linking them through our network to the world market through their farm produce. It will also help in achieving the MDG goals of eradicating poverty and promoting gender equality.
Pulse Wire has proven to be very supportive of initiatives that has been very useful for personal and global development and I believe Our Voices Correspondence will indeed lend its voice to these women.
