Are You a Well-Rounded Networker?

The thought of reaching out to a common set of people in 190 countries gives the brain opportunity overload. I mean, the access gained by connecting with a website like WorldPulse is something few people can actually maximize. There are literally too many possibilities… Where to start? And there’s literally not enough time in the day… How much spare time do we really have?

So, between the folks who never even attempt to join a group of people with a united voice, and those who are not effective at taking advantage of it, we have a small number of folks we can call special. Now, what separates these women from the others? Well, first, they are activators, not procrastinators. In order to network effectively online, you have to engage, as well as actively participate.

In order to do this, you have to make an actual plan. You’ll find that effective, well-rounded networkers are very organized. Wandering is not in their feet or vocabulary. Every day, when they set out to somehow improve their lives, they end up doing it, even if it’s just making one important contact, or furthering one of their goals in some small way on a website like this one.

Effective networkers get ahead by working on a couple of different levels. They understand the benefits of, and the importance of, both business networking and social networking. Sometimes these two things intertwine, and that’s often when the most progress is made. But generally, these two types of networks are independent of one another, at least at the start. Working both networks ultimately leads to a coveted and well-rounded group of contacts who can help with just about anything at any time.

You know what’s important to you, so every day, get out there and connect with the people who share your interests and want to make the same things happen. Throw in a little bit of genuine self-giving and even a splash of philanthropy and usually there is such a thing as karma. Even if you never get anything in return, you are in the good company of others who know where you’re coming from.

Maybe you’re out to change the world by speaking out on WorldPulse, or maybe you are dedicated to staving off world hunger and needless illness by sharing interesting facts about water ionizers. As you know, all social websites connect people, but engaging one that activates people in the same areas that you’re focused on – now that’s targeted networking.

Never forget to organize your thoughts when you connect. Force yourself to do this on paper if you have to, and track your progress down each path. If you internalize what’s important to you, and try to maximize your experiences in those genres through your networking, then you will be more than focused. You will be an effective networker.
