I am Valéria Barbosa, 60, a cultural producer and poet. I work with community communication in the City of God and the Web radio with a program focused on poetry. In the favela there are people of value, it is necessary to divulge what has the best in the place. I am currently producing the first poem book of an 85 year old woman.
Quarterly we produce a printed newspaper, 4,000 copies for a community of 52 thousand inhabitants. The paper is available online at the ISSUU website.
Rio de Janeiro is very violent, fear reigns, having Community Communication and poetry as tools of expression is a way to seek a territory with more hope.
