Introducing myself and my journal: Wrapped Candy Lifestyle

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh (May the peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you),

Beloved reader, Inshallah (God willing), know that I am dedicated to giving voice to the struggles of women and children while striving to keep in accordance with the Quran and Sunnah, because it is important to me. I am a Muslim woman, but regardless of which religion you practice it is generally accepted that men are the protectors and the maintainers of women. I do not see that happening in our society today. Women and children are the burden bearers of humanity, expected to exist in a state of quiet grace.

The majority of the powers that be all over the world are men. Men who have turned blind eyes and deaf ears to our hardships. They are busy about the business of war and commerce. I find it disturbing that women and children all over the world are starving and dying from the consequences of war and commerce. Inshallah, it is we women who will help the responsible and respect worthy men rebuild our nations with the fruit of our wombs and the work of our hands.

Women and children have been pushed into the margins of society and religion as if we are an afterthought, when indeed we are the first thought. I don't know yet how loud my voice is, or if there is validity in what I want to say so sternly, or even if I have a right to admonish the wrong I see. I do know that humanity is born of our wombs and men are raised by our hands and the first gift they receive is our knowledge. I do know that women are indeed and important and integral part of humanity.

My utopia is a world where women are allowed to live in relative safety, protected from unnecessary calamity, able to feed their families and generate a decent income. I am not against men, in fact we need them, to listen, to understand and to be trustworthy leaders, husbands and fathers. I do not want to run the world. I am simply demanding my rightful place in it be free from injustice and tyranny.

These are my hopes,

Rahal
