HEARTLAND

Land is my birthing ground, the garden from which I grow .
It is my nurturer, my nourishment, the breast from which I suckle.
Gently supporting me, it is the solidity beneath my feet.
Land is the source from which I feast, the ground on which I build my shelter.
A doorway to the natural world of beauty and spirit, land beckons me to listen to its wisdom.
Land is the carrier of life, the recycler, the restorer.
It is a weaving of life, giving and sharing

…….If one sits with, listens, feels and trusts in the land, then the world opens up and nature provides us with all we need. If one knows and respects the land, then balance is in place and there is always plenty. When one knows the songs of the land, then one moves with the rhythm of life…. then ONE IS.

In the past 8 years life has taken me to the desert of central Australia where I have been fortunate to share with and learn from our indigenous sisters and brothers of this great land.

I have been deeply touched by the warmth and open heartedness of these people and the serene beauty of this arid desert scape. The colours, textures and scents have been etched into my memory as I have embodied the richness and the heart of both land and culture.

Having sat and listened and learned from these people, feeling and witnessing their spiritual wisdom and connectedness to the land, I now view land and life through new eyes, seeing and feeling the interconnectedness of all in life with clearer insight and an open heart. I recognise land is a part of that motion within me which unifies and defines the elements through this stream of movement called life.
