Introducing myself and my journal: Al Sadaqa Amid Orange Blossoms

About Me:
I am a published travel writer, poet, and journalist. My most recent areas of interest are religion and international politics. I am a regular contributor to the Levantine Review, in which I cover topics on women's issues and Islam's relationship to the West. I studied literature and history at Colorado State University, with a specialty in creative writing and a minor in history. I have also studied at St. Petersburg State University in Russia and at Pablo de Olavide University in Spain. Additionally, I have lived in Spain as a translator, tour guide, travel writer and English teacher, and have traveled to Morocco, Portugal, England, Finland, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic. My devotion to cross-cultural understanding and desire to further comprehend the complex issues our world faces have led me to writing.
