I am going to share a story with you, a story of corruption, perpetrated by one woman against another.

There was a couple who was staying in a certain house up my street, they were from KZN and they came to stay with a man that I grew up with. This guy and his siblings had family issues pertaining to the house and he eventually chased them away, made house with this couple I had mentioned earlier. He then got married to a woman younger than him. At the time they got marred, this girl was in possession of the old dompas(ID document) and the house was registered in their names.
Eventually they separated and the husband continued living with the couple until he passed away from a stroke in 2000. In 2010, there were people who came around to view the house and told this couple that the house was on sale and they kept refuting this. Eventually, a certain lady approached the wife and suggested they sell the house and split the money, the wife refused.

One day(this was now 2012), they got an Eviction note, they went as far as the High Court to contest it. While the case was still pending, the husband got sick and it was discovered that he had lung Cancer and it had drastically progressed. He passed away in December 2012 and was buried on the 20th 2012. On the evening of Christmas Day, the seller(corrupt lady) came with the police to evict the widow and she refused. On the 26th, I went to her house(widow) just to visit, unaware of yesterday's developments, and I found her house full of people together with the lady who was selling "her" house. To cut a long story short, I volunteered to help this lady seek further legal intervention and came to an agreement with the "seller" to give us more time till first week of January. She agreed, this after she asked whose volunteering to assist the widow get legal assistance.

On the 31st Jan 2013, she came again with a group of "activists", who call themselves Soweto Concerned Residents and the police to evict this widow, I was called to the scene and when I got there I found that the "seller" had left and only the SCR members were there. I showed them the evidence I had gathered about the pending case and copies of fraudulent ID Documents this lady was using to conduct her fraudulent activities of selling people's homes, amongst those documents, were some from late estate, where the wife of the owner of the house had an identity book number instead of the old dompas number and claiming that she was related to the wife(owner of the house) and a death certificate. This woman has never laid eyes on the younger widow, but had documents pertaining to her, to crown it all, the house has been sold and transfered and registered to the new owners, "legally".They then left and peace was restored, the very same day, at night, my house was vandalised, they broke my windows.

Up to now, that lady has not been arrested because she is in cahoots with the police and many Government Departments, involved in Housing matters and Late Estate matters. The sad thing in this story is that, as we are fighting for women empowerment, other women empower themselves by hurting other women. Imagine a woman evicting a widow six days after her husband was buried and knowing very well that her actions are illegal and further more, vandalise another woman's house for standing up for another.

How do we get to win the war when the battle is amongst ourselves?
