Even at full Menopause she keeps mothering; My mother, the woman who never stops mothering!

My mother!
You are the most wonderful woman in my world. No amount of alphabets put together can express the woman you are. When I think about all your struggles, your love, your strength, your kindness, I feel like sending you on 2 years holidays somewhere in the world where you will experience life in a 5 star hotel, in a beautiful country.
Despite poverty the family was facing,
At 51, you took my 6 months old son to mother so that I can go back to school in a far off town. You overlooked the fact that I became pregnant as a teenager who was still in school. You shun pressure from friends and neighbours who told you that I was better left at home to make more children than go back to school to get another pregnancy. You toiled in the farm with my son at your back just to put food on the table for the family. From the farm, you came home and spent sleepless nights changing the nappies/diaper and giving food to my son while I go to school, free from the pains of mothering. For those times that my son called you mother and called me sister, I respected you for all the work done to make him feel that way. Mum you are one in a million.
At 64, you have taken my younger sister’s 2 months old daughter to mother so that she can concentrate on her University studies. You still did not kill her for becoming pregnant while at school. You are km’s away from her biological mother, yet you are capable of raising this newborn with artificial food that you and your husband struggle to buy. You go to your small farm, go to church, go to meetings, and travel with a 2 months old baby glued to you as if you are the biological nursing mother. Mum, your strength is amazing!
Mothering my baby and my younger sister’s baby is just a quarter of the mothering you do. For over 15 years now you have become a wife, mother, doctor to you husband, our father, who is down with hypertension, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease. You cook for him, rush him to hospitals, take him for his monthly rendez-vous in distant towns for specialist attention, ask him about how he is feeling every minute. All this you do while mothering our children and other family members in the house. I remember when my dad was once in a comma, before I could reach there, you were carrying a baby on your back at the hospital, while you struggle to change daddy’s pyjamas. Mummy, you are the apple of my eye.
Mummy if you should die, I don’t think I will be able to continue living. Please wait for that day when I will mobilize resources to take you to that dream place, that dream country, so that you can spend some free time and have fun. It is not propaganda, it is a promise. It is high time you stop mothering and enjoy your menopause like other women.
It is for these reasons that I award you with:
BEST MOTHER AWARD FOR 2013!
