World Pulse and One Young World

I came to know about Young One World from World Pulse when I was doing VOF training! Thank you World Pulse for encouraging me to apply for OYW.

Being the delegate of OYW was itself a big achievement for me as it was the first time I attended such global level summit in my life representing Nepal. I was really excited to be among the 1400 other youths from 171 countries.
Seeing the world’s top leaders live, meeting so many amazing youth leaders in person gave me the time to judge where I am and where I am moving to, of course for a good reason. I was so happy to hear some of the very brilliant ideas to work in community for different reason. I was thoroughly inspired by each one of them. Some asked me my ideas which I learned from world pulse to start the community based project and they liked it.

In other hand, I was very excited to meet my world pulse friends. Though we met for the first time, it felt like we have already met so many times before as we were already connected via world pulse. Besides, I made some really good friends from totally different countries and was really touched, inspired, admired by their stories.

It taught me how youths are changing the world by doing simple things but with the great effects. I met one of the delegates from CapeTown, South Africa. He is trying to start the campaign ‘food to unite people’, his aim is to unite people from all the religion and how people can be united inspite of different cultures and cast. I was really inspired by his ideas. He is taking this initiative to fulfill his friend’s wish who died untimely.

There was another friend from Suriname, he is in youth parliament of his country. I had got the chance to know about his country and how youth parliament is helping the nation by putting and uniting youths in the country’s overall development. Truly amazing!

There are so many stories to share, so many good ideas that we can adopt for our communities. It helped me to gain the knowledge that I was unaware of, it connected me to the amazing youths from around the world, it gave me the confidence to create change with simple ideas.

It also taught me how youths are being the part of the important decisions of the nation worldwide. As a youth I was getting knowledge of the youth issues and ideas, as a girl I was getting positive energy from brilliant ladies in the summit.

After OYW, now I am well aware of many projects which OYW ambassadors are doing, and I am even encouraged to be part of it.I have my friends around the globe to support and get support.

How can I forget the names that helped me to achieve this dream of mine, ROTARY CLUB OF MATILDA BAY, RTN. RON GILLET- USA, TUULA AFAI-USA, BETH ROBERTS-USA, FRITZ BERGER-SWITZERLAND, CHARLOTTE B. – SWITZERLAND AND MY FAMILY.

To sum up, it was a dream coming true to connect with wonderful youth leaders, to be inspired by world’s top most leaders, to be blessed by the brilliant ideas of the world and to get friends from different corner of the world. It has put positive energy to continue the Girls Toilet Project that I am coordinating and inspired me to create and support other projects together with other youths around the world.

Thank you WorldPulse and thank you OneYoungWorld, thank you Everyone!!!
