To our journal, we want to add that the war is a great handicap to women’s education. The war engenders poverty, insecurity and all sorts of rape and sexual violence and killings. At the moment that I am talking to you, there are plenty of children and women who are displaced and are hiding in the forest, or in neighboring villages. They did not attend the first day of school and they have witnessed pillages and the parents have no money to get school supplies. Here it is the girl who is a victim of illiteracy even if she is more astute and has more intellectual competence than the brother.
