Any tool is a weapon if you hold it right’

I have always had great interest in projects that work towards advancing women’s rights that were long fought for and agreed to almost two decades ago; and that implement programs to speed up women’s access to and realization of these rights.

Voice of our future is an online citizen journalism and digital empowerment training program which has served as a platform to give myself a voice that reaches beyond geographical boundaries, it is more than just about getting voice but communicating for change, attaining visibility and strapping up gender equality. This is an opportunity ‘to catch up’ technologically so as to avoid further marginalization.

The internet has become an increasingly critical public sphere for the claiming of women’s rights. This is a powerful tool for the empowerment of women because at the end they are set to have greater knowledge and also the possibility to gain career and professional possibilities. Being part of an online community such as World pulse for women and girls to share information around technology is important for it contributes to enabling more gender-equal participation online.
