Introducing myself and my journal: Fulfilling Ambition

About Me:
I am Teckler Akinyi born on the 17th September 1994 when my mother was in form 4 and was due for her final exams in the month of October of the same year.Am told my mum went through alot since her father (my grandpa) could not stomach the news of his only daughter conceiving while still in school.She nonetheless went ahead and sat her final exams though she didn't perform well. I was later to be taken in by my grand parents through the intervention of my uncle who convinced his father that life was not going to stop for his sister due to unwanted pregnancy.
I never had the chance of staying with my mum since she had to struggle on her own through the help of my uncle and my grandma. She managed to undertake a catering course though was not able to secure employment.
My mum got married to a man who passed away in 2003 though I never lived with them.
I managed to go to primary school under the care of my grandparents and my mum enrolled me in a private school in my final year of primary schooling.I managed to pass my exams and joined Kipsigis Girls High School in 2009.My mum ventured into business and took over the paying of my fee from my uncle who is jobless and my grandma who is retired. I think fate was not on my side since I enjoyed this for only my 8 or so months of form 1.My mum was taken ill sometime in September of 2009 and passed away on 4th Oct 2009. She died while under a medical research study by the Walter Reed Project since am told she tested positive to HIV and had a low CD4 count(9).I have never had the time to understand this disease but hope to get the opportunity to go through my education and understand it well and also to support my only brother Tevin born ten(10) years after me.
