VOF Week 1: (Greater shared of understanding, peaceful world)

Today I read a line from Goodenough (1994), “Frequent performance of an activity promotes greater sharing of understandings...Discontinuity of personnel and infrequent performace both militate against shared understanding.” And I realized, that greater shared of understanding, is something that the world is missing today and we ended up with more violence each day.
My government did not realize what is the meaning of Rp 1000 (around US 10 cent) for us when they hiked the fuel price, which forced tens of moms queueing in every urban corner, lining for a cheaper price before its price rise. They do not understand. A husband, do not understand how difficult it is for his five to raise 3 children without his help and at the same time, she has to take care all of the domestic works by her self. A girl lost in confusion when he got raped by her teacher and then be blamed by the society, men and women, for being to naughty. Those tens of moms, the exhausted wife and the confused girl, lost their words and are forced to loose it. While loosing the words, they are losing their existence, their significance to the world.
Thus Web 2.0 giving me the chance to shout my voice, free my pain and share my joy, without being afraid. And in this context, it helps to broaden our understanding of each other. As I read other women’s stories, I learn not to judge them for the decision that they took, because we live in different situation and different condition. And I feel other women share the same thing when they read my stories. Through this, I become you and you become me without negating ourselves. Together, by sharing our stories and strengthening our voice, we could learn the meaning of pain and joy, and hope that it would lead to a peaceful world.
