I’ve been seated at this desk for three years now, editing stories from around Kenya for the Star newspaper.
When we are young we think everything is for real but as we grow and mature we realized things will not always be the way we wanted.
In every angle and curve of the silent mountain roads down to the busy plains of the city life there are many tales of abuse waiting to be told.
Remember my baptism by fire in reference to many women’s lives? Well , I have tasted it too and been led me to ask the big question... Who am I and why am I here?
Let us come back a little bit to my past. I feel like my family and I have always lived in a lot of troubles. I was poor and my classmates did not like me.
My personal vision in life is to become a leader, to work diligently to ensure that I am able to change people’s orientation about women ‘s subordination’s.
I have passed my childhood in Dhaka city among the periphery of the four walls in a quarter near the Sangsad Bhaban (The Parliament House of Bangladesh).
I gave myself an ultimatum that my life needed to take a different course. I was tired of people’s rejection and questioning my life, I felt a need for a break from the past.
