My Journey

I am from Nigeria.l am from a polygamous family and my organization is gear towards bringing economic intervention to the women of Ikot Obio Idim community in Akwa Ibom State as my community is known for its inhuman cultural practices ,abuse of widows and widowhood .When a man dies ,our norms and beliefs accuse the widows of killing their husbands consequent upon which she is subjected to all forms of dehumanizing treatment thereby associating their lives with pains,grief and depression.To address this matter,my organization has developed an innovation program that promote sustainable development among community dwellers especially the widows and rural farmers through capacity building ,skill development and mindset Change to turnaround the lives of widows in our community.
