Ignite Portland Documentary Short

I had the pleasure of seeing a documentary short today created by PulseWire member Liz Grover. It was about Ignite Portland, which is a community event that gives each presenter 5 minutes to speak on any topic they are passionate about. Each presenter gets 20 slides to go along with their presentation, and the slides advance automatically every 15 seconds. This makes for a fast-paced, entertaining event, and there are similar Ignite events now taking place around the world. I don't know if the documentary is available online yet, but I'll update this post with the URL when it is.

The documentary was shown during 30 Hour Day, a 30-hour long telethon that was broadcast online this past Friday and Saturday, and which supported the following charitable organizations: Free Geek, Oregon Food Bank, and Toys for Tots. However, they also allowed anyone to use the telethon to raise money for any worthy cause. It was a great concept and a well-produced event, and the rumor is that Liz Grover will be creating a documentary about it as well. I'm looking forward to seeing it!

Comments

Hi Ankur. Thanks for the support. This is the link for my Ignite documentary short http://bit.ly/5RUV00 Yes, I'm making a short piece about 30 Hour Day as well and it will go live at the end of February. I also have a couple of additional documentary pieces up my sleeve, but I can't talk about them until spring of 2010.

Peace!
Liz
