Google for Non-Profits

Want to get your small nonprofit organization up and running online quickly and for less than $10 a year? Allan Benamer over at the Non-Profit Tech Blog has written a three-part series entitled "How to get your small nonprofit up on the Web" with instructions (including screenshots) on registering a domain name, signing up for Google Apps, and having emails for your domain name routed to Google Apps.

For a full list of free services that Google has available for nonprofits, visit Google for Non-Profits. The services listed there include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Gmail
Save time and resources with free Google-hosted email, customized for your domain
  • Google Checkout
Collect donations online and process them for free, with no monthly, setup, or gateway fees
  • Google Docs
Create and edit documents online and collaborate in real time with staff and volunteers
  • Google Calendar
Organize schedules and publicize events with shared calendars
  • Google Analytics
Understand how people find and interact with information on your website
  • Google Grants
Reach and engage your supporters through free online advertising

I don't think it's ever been easier for a small nonprofit to get going online so easily and for so little cost. Thanks, Google!
