Digital Action Campaign Narrative
May 28, 2019
Story
As an artist, women and children’s rights activist, I want to continue what I did in module 6 , “facilitating digital change making training with empowerment through Art workshop “ or E.T.A. on my digital action campaign, As I am working with returned migrant women and transnational children, I want to make a digital platform for an awareness and crowd sourcing campaign for my community.
Batis-AWARE (association of women in action for rights and empowerment) and Batis- YOGHI (youth organization that give hope and inspiration) are fruits of Batis Center for Women, an NGO that provides direct services to the returned migrant women and their children from all over the world, most of the clients are from Japan, that is why most of YOGHImembers are JFC or Japanese-Filipino Children.
These two organizations has so many issues, from political, educational, social and personal issues that needs to confront, needs help, one thing that I could help is to raise fund for Batis, to promote justice in every issues.
Personally, I use artto express my feelings, it’s a great way to overcome stress and personal difficulties, artis my meditation and relaxation. It makesme feel comfortable when I finish my artwork, every art piece is a success! Art is my main weapon in amplifying my voice and advocacy.
I amusingart in empowering my community, I will build a digitalgallery using social media platforms, like World pulse, facebook ,Twitter and Instagram using #etaor #empowermentthroughart #batis hastags, I will build a website for E.T.A. gallery, where I can upload all the paintings that will be donated by artists andartworks made by batis members, to raise fund for them and for operational activities in the organization.
My vision is building an ETA gallery, where people can share their dreams, passion and works, like artists can volunteer teach an art workshop in the gallery and sell it to raise fund to help women and children in their education, and in so on and forth. The main goal of ETA is to help ourselves, help others, and help the society like what Batis is doing, empowering people.
I believe that there is no ugly artwork, whether it’s a painting, writing, acting, speaking, cooking etc. I believe in the natural creativity of women, women are all born artist, born to be great in our own special ways- yllang.
