Maternal Health

Women do indeed deliver and I'm talking about delivering babies, nothing else. So if women are the incubators of new life, you would think that the entire world would understand that for the future of the human race, for the progeny of all fathers, for the health and welfare of all infants, and children, and adults, i.e. throughout the life cycle, that it is infant girls, girl children and women in general and pregnant women in particular who should be the healthiest, the best educated, the most valued and the most appreciated for the gifts (babies) they give. You would think that the world would abhor violence of any kind against the female sex. You would think that the mental and physical health of the female would be the highest of all human values.
But there is very little understanding of this incontrovertible fact. What is it that causes whole cultures, governments, and religions to deny and ignore this truth? What is it that causes individuals, both men and women, to lack this fundamental understanding? Until we figure this out, until we figure out that complete and utter gender equality is the only possible answer to the coming crises of population, climate, food, water, and war, there is very little hope for people and the planet. So come on, Women Deliver, shout this out to the world!
