Wellness is an active state or process of being aware and making choices on healthy and fulfilling life. However, wellness is more than being free from illness or diseases, it involves change and growth. The world health organisation sees wellness as “...a state of complete physical, mental, and social well being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.”

It is important to note that wellness matters a lot in order to live a higher quality life, because emotions and everything we do relate to our well-being. It is advisable to ensure optimal wellness in order to overcome stress and illness.

There are different dimensions of wellness such as, emotional wellness, environmental wellness, financial wellness, intellectual wellness, occupational wellness, social wellness, spiritual wellness and physical wellness.

Let’s consider physical wellness and focus on menstrual well being of women. It has been discovered that a lot of ladies are not conscious of their menstrual period and some do not even take time to notice the changes in their body during menstruation. This has resulted into different types of infections which at the end, damage some essential part of the body. However, these infections are caused by lackadaisically attitude or inability to take proper care of the body during menstruation. One common ways to contact infections during menstruation is in the use of sanitary pads.

There are a number of disposable sanitary pads in circulation today, and these pads are drench in a lot of chemicals in the process of production. These chemicals tend to be very harmful to the human body. Hardly is there any disposable sanitary pad without at least 50% of chemical in it. Therefore, we shall consider some traits that disposable sanitary pads pose on our health and how to prevent it.

This is so true a lot of ladies consider pain killers in those days of the month rather than natural pain relievers like warm water, some yoga exercises and a few stretches or others would rather stand the pain since it takes a few days more so, body Hygiene is also vital .
