Introducing myself and my journal: Acacia's Anecdotes

About Me:
I grew up in the Midwest, but I have always wanted to discover other ways of life, so upon graduating from high school, I took a year of Spanish so that I could visit my friend from the Dominican Republic that next summer.

Then I went to a university to major in French and study teaching. Upon receiving my Bachelor's, I became a teaching assistant in the French Alps to French high school students. It was there that I met my future husband, Francis. We got married and since he was French, I lived a total of 15 years in France. We had 2 children, who have lived in both the US and France and are bilingual.

I love the French language and I loved many things of that culture which I miss a lot. We were going to move back to France 9 years ago when my husband died suddenly. So I am here in the US. I miss him terribly.

Things that interest me are yoga, walking in nature, reading, writing, vegetarianism, and of course, French. I am also interested in living ecologically friendly and in making friends worldwide to share what we have in common as well as learn about what makes us different.

My Passions:
Reading, Yoga, Vegetarianism, Nature walks, Singing, Music, Ecology

My Challenges:
I lost my soul mate almost a decade ago.

My Vision for the Future:
Worldwide peace. Cooperation among countries.

My Areas of Expertise:
French teacher, translator.
