What is your greatest impact in our world starting 2012?

A few days ago, I was attending several schools commissioning (Handing over the fully furnished new classroom blocks with latrines and Furniture to the local government and the schools administration) by Build Africa. It was jaw dropping and I was so shocked to hear that out of 32 pupils who sat final primary leaving exams in this particular school - Kisomere Primary School ONLY 9 where girls, reason being; they are married off by the age of 12 for bridal wealth which is nothing but one or two goats given to the parents of the girl. In most cases the girls can not afford education because of Chronic poverty, a belief that a girl child does not deserve education, ignorance as well as the effects of HIV/AIDS.

For decades, 98% of the rural Ugandan communities do not complete high school level. Nearly 0.5% will graduate at a diploma level. This is due to the effects of chronic poverty, HIV, cultural beliefs that education is meant for the boys and also domestic violence.

This is the reason why I will use every single cell in my body and all the money that I will ever own in this life to educate a helpless girl child. What a future without education, where would You/I be without it?!

The mission is: To connect Grassroots Girls with Mentors. One Girl of rural Uganda to one Mentor from across the globe.
What good can a helpless girl contribute in this world without education and mentorship?

We are starting a new year, 2012, please think of the impact you will create by supporting just one girl to attain education.

If you are not familiar with the reason why I am passionate about girl Child Education; please read my recent journals.
My education and life experiences compel me to fight for others in my footsteps.

I will be very grateful if you choose to Educate and Mentor just one girl out of these ones. For $188 only, you are able to educate a girl for one term and for the three terms that make up a year is $564.

For more information, please contact me by email, biitry@gmail.com.

Thank you in advance, for making a lasting difference through investing in the education of a rural/grassroots girl child from Uganda.
