Indeed many young girls withdraw from maths especially because of the challenges and its complexities which they do not want to explore. Growing up ad a girl, i really did not want to do maths but what interested the most was the fact that in every thing i did in life, i needed maths so i hadn't a choice.
Well in my small corner, i have not stopped encouraging girls to study math. STEM is an organization as yours which empowers young girls. Thanks to founders like you, Sophie for this wonderful initiative. I join you to help the girl child in this domain.
I am selective in my liking of Math subject - I don't like Algebra but I love Trigonometry and Physics but I agree this should not discouraged girls to get their hearts and mind in the numbers that makes the world go round :).
Good luck in your campaign and looking forward to more girls in the field of science and technology. We are also promoting the same in my country.
Hi Adanna. Thanks for sharing your project/initiative. Keep us posted on your progress and how you are changing the old beliefs and paradigms around science, math and technology for girls. I'm curious and would also like to know how it's going along the way. Have a great day!
Dear Adanna I am one of those students who ran away from maths from my secondary days and I later saw the effect .back then my math teacher made maths look so abstract something out of the ordinary and am sure many girls went through such because their teachers didn't use the right approach on them .I know with this your project the view of many girls concerning maths will definitely change .more efforts
