Our STEM Workshop in Jos in Plateau State Nigeria
InspireIT STEM Club Project Workshop in Jos in Plateau State Nigeria

InspireIT is currently running its STEM Club workshops across the 6 geo-political zones in Nigeria. We are working hard to not only ensure that our girls are digitally skilled but also that our children (male and female) are not left behind in learning 21st century skills. We believe that digital skills are very important if we want to raise not only great leaders and entrepreneurs but also creative thinkers and innovators.

Many girls in Nigeria especially in rural areas are yet to fully understand the power of technology. Many are still left behind when it comes to knowledge about digital and coding skills. These girls want to learn but have no access to internet, resources and quality teachers. We are determined to leave no one behind in our quest to support, mentor and encourage more girls to learn digital skills, build strong foundation in science subjects and learn coding skills.

While carrying out our workshops, we ensure that our participants wash their hands, use hand sanitizers and facemasks.

We believe in making positive impact and raising leaders who will go on to raise other leaders. We want to see more girls become innovators and help in changing the myths, stereotypes and false perceptions about women in STEM and girls interested in pursuing careers in STEM.

Thank you Adanna! This initiative ROCKS!! Having workd in Canada on Women in STEM I am with you and all the young girls you empower - we are united across borders in breaking preconceptions! This resonated : "We believe that digital skills are very important if we want to raise not only great leaders and entrepreneurs but also creative thinkers and innovators." Yes! What you are doing is a powerful process of allowing space for women to learn what society has pushed us to believe we cannot do, and breaking the internalized narratives and moving towards being real, empowered, whole and living our power! This reminded me of this awesome Ted talk by another woman who works like you do, with young women to teach coding. IT It is a Ted Talk on teaching women bravery, not perfection. This is what you are doing, you are bravery in action. Thank you I appreciate you and your work! Here is the link to the Ted talk too! https://www.ted.com/talks/reshma_saujani_teach_girls_bravery_not_perfection

Hugs from Montreal!

Thank you so much Adriana for your kind words and encouragement!

Thank you again for sharing the TED talk link. The first thing I did was to watch the TED talk by Reshma. I have saved it in my video collections!
I have also been a TEDx organizer in the past, so I really appreciate this. ❤️

Love ,
Adanna

Hello Adanna,
I hope you are doing great.
This is beautiful and what amazing impact that is. There is really no denying what great impact an empowered and trained young girl would have in this fast growing technological world of ours.
Thank you for taking the lead while ensuring they stay save in learning.
I like this because it is so very correct : 'We believe in making positive impact and raising leaders who will go on to raise other leaders. We want to see more girls become innovators and help in changing the myths, stereotypes and false perceptions about women in STEM and girls interested in pursuing careers in STEM.'

Keep impacting.

Hello, my tech-empowered sister,

It's always a joy to read an update of what you do! I love that photo so much. You are raising, not only tech-skilled future leaders, but empathetic ones, too! I always see people wearing masks as people who care enough. They care that they won't add an additional burden to our medical frontliners, and they care not to spread the virus as well.

Thank you for inspiring us again with your initiative, dear. Keep up the great work! I agree with Nini, even corona can't stop you. Now, if a deadly virus can't stop you, then nothing you dream of will be impossible for you!

My Dear Karen,

Thank you so much for your kind words and encouragement.

As much as we want kids to learn, we also try not to endanger their lives. Hence the mandatory facemasks at our workshops.
