The Resources I am Most Proud Of

Resource mapping has actually been an eye opener to me. I now realized I have always had a lot of resources around me which I didn’t know and for that matter could not make very good use of them. At a point I almost stopped moving towards achieving my purpose in life. This is because I didn’t know how else to do it or to get resources to enable me keep moving and to make my voice heard. Not knowing there has been a lot of resources around me right from day one. Some of those I am now very proud of and can now actively use to achieve my purpose are:

i. Aspirational assets: Despite the challenges and the fact that I felt stuck at a point until I joined world pulse, I have always stayed positive within that someday, somehow my voice will be heard globally and that because of Bendoweh Foundation which I founded, no lady will end up in an abusive marriage in Ghana. Every couple will have a healthy relationship and marriage, singles mindset about marriage will be changed and that they will begin to marry for the right reasons. Thanks to world pulse, I now have so much to think about, to do and so many ways I can ‘move’ towards accomplishing my purpose. I now feel very confident that very soon my impact will be felt beyond the borders of Ghana.

ii. The second important asset I had which I took for granted is my family and friends. Right from day one, my two lovely daughters, my parents and relatives have all been very supportive in various ways. My daughters have always been quite during live calls so that mama can hear clearly. My friends have also been very helpful. Some of them are volunteers in the organization. Some friends also do networking for me. I am currently running a radio program which one of my friends linked me up with and it’s been monitored by them. They also give me internet access in their offices as and when I want. They have been of tremendous help which I took for granted at first.

iii. Digital asset is the third important one I do not only appreciate now, but I can also use effectively. At the point that I didn’t know what else to do to keep moving towards my purpose, I use the internet for only about one or two hours a week. Though I had access to it until I came across world pulse. Today, not only do I know many digital tools I can use to promote my work, I can also use them effectively. I am now even designing my website.

Though I have the above assets in abundance, the one I need most now is the material asset especially funding. I know that with the introduction of crowd sourcing, crowd funding and the website I am designing, it will also be a thing of the past.
