About Me

I decided to become a leader seeing all from the problems that arose in my community and more specifically regarding the question of the status of women. Having grown up in an African community where the woman born without rights, I was lambasted by the lack of consideration of society towards women in the fact that girls have less access to education, she cannot have possession of the land, even if, traditionally, she is the one who bears the burden of feeding the family through the products of the land she works and which does not even belong to. As a journalist and communicator, I took to heart to use my knowledge and experience to show the world what is happening to women in my country and make a change for their benefit.

Digital media is easy to use and access. They can be a very influential vector. However, in my country, education of girls (and therefore women) and Internet penetration is low, I think that digital media will be most used to show the situation of women to the urban areas in my country and many internationally. This for the simple reason that it is in these areas that digital media are developed and this is a good thing because here is a good opportunity to relay information and to show to the world what is really happening in our countries.

I am inspired me by all those women who are obliged to take control of their home when the husband is no longer able to do so, as in urban areas husband with inadequate salary, and in rural areas by the need to custom. Leaving in a country where the political and socio-economic system is unstable, women and children are the first victims of conflicts, diseases, lack of resources and even public access to public and international aids and poltics.

The change I want to see is awareness and that actions are taken to improve the situation of women both by governments and within society in our customary and traditional attitudes.

My Vision

My vision of the future in my country and around the world is that the girl has access to education, I want that early and forced marriages stop, I want women to have access to land ownership, and access to responsibilities in all areas of life. The woman is a key actor in the fulfillment of the millennium goals, developing countries need to understand that and involve them in the growth process for improving socio-economic conditions of their people.
