The Justice40 is a government-wide initiative that will facilitate the delivery of 40 percent of overall benefits of “relevant federal investments to disadvantaged communities.”
The Justice40 Accelerator will serve frontline communities applying for federal funds across multiple agencies flowing from the administration’s executive order.
The Justice40 Accelerator’s offerings will include:
a) Informational briefings and resources to learn about federal grants and eligibility;
b) Grants in philanthropic capacity building grants for dozens of eligible organizations;
c) Project pre-development workshops;
d) Partnership opportunities that include strategically connecting to an equity ecosystem of partners through relationship acceleration (village and base building);
e) Support in navigating the local procurement landscape;
f) Technical expertise to support successful applications for federal funding including accounting, legal, and government grant writing.
Our Core Partners - Elevate, Groundswell, The Hummingbird Firm, Partnership for Southern Equity and The Solutions Project - are all working together to ensure the necessary tools and resources are in place for frontline organizations to be prepared to apply for federal funding through the Justice40 Initiative.
Utilize This Offer
Communities who are at the frontlines of climate, environmental, and social injustices have the wisdom and the solutions to create systemic transformational change.
Due to historic structural racism and bureaucratic inadequacies, these same communities lack access to the capacity and resources to implement their solutions.
The Justice40 Accelerator will share information, resources, and capacity with frontline community organizations.
These communities will be able to formulate projects and successfully apply to the Federal funding opportunities presented by the Biden-Harris Administration Justice40 Initiative.
The Justice40 Accelerator will support black, indigenous, people of color, and women-led non-profits, non-governmental organizations, and fiscally sponsored initiatives working at the frontlines of climate and environmental crises.
While organizations or individuals are not guaranteed any funding, the Justice40 Accelerator process will guarantee further knowledge in the Justice40 Initiative, in the application process, and in networking with "Big Sister" organizations that can offer further assistance and guidance.
If interested, please submit an application to participate in the Justice40 Accelerator program.
Applications are due no later than 11:59 PM PST, July 7, 2021.
Applicants will be notified by July 23 if they are being invited to join the Accelerator.
Accelerator grantees will be asked to join a virtual orientation workshop in early August (date TBD). Accelerator offerings will be available from August 2021 to March 2022.
