Ecobank Fintech Challenge is a pan-African innovation competition and business partnership offering by Ecobank. It is designed to inspire, support and partner African Fintechs, with an aim to expand the reach of innovative Fintech and banking related products.

The Ecobank Fintech Challenge identifies and partners Fintechs that are ready to scale and provides them with support and access to opportunities in Ecobank’s 33 African markets.

The goal?
To contribute to their growth as potential Pan African Fintech success stories.

Utilize This Offer

Eligibility Criteria:
1. The Challenge is open to all Fintechs on the African continent.
2. Interested Fintechs can apply by sending details of their product as well as a demo.
3. Teams are to submit applications addressing one or more of the following challenges:
a) Customer experience;
b) Credit Scoring;
c) Ecosystem aggregation;
d) Financial Inclusion;
e) Internal tools;
f) Payments.

> The selected finalists participate in the Ecobank Fintech Innovation Fair. The top three winners at the Challenge will be awarded USD$15,000, USD$12,000 and USD$10,000 cash prizes respectively.
> All finalists are inducted into the Ecobank Fintech Fellowship, which affords them the opportunity to explore deals, integration and commercial partnership with the Ecobank Group.
> Mentoring and networking support: founders will be inducted as Ecobank Fintech Fellows, granting them access and relationships to a vast network of global and African Accelerators and potential Investors as well as mentors.

Friendly reminders:
1. Find and analyze open and closed calls that interest you. Try to discover:
• what they have in common, and
• how you can think ahead / plan to apply = increase your chances of success!
2. Gather or update paperwork (certificates, attests, statements, resumes, etc.) and information usually required by calls such this one;
3. Write - baby steps... - and discuss a project draft, to validate within your group the priorities of the proposal(s) and to train your grant writing skills as well;
4. Do not wait to find a call and then start writing your proposal / project. Start NOW!
5. Do visit regularly the World Pulse website to make customized searches for grant opportunities. How?
a) Click on the Menu (left upper corner);
b) Type the name of your country in the search area (blank space); click enter;
c) Click on Filters;
d) Click on Resource;
e) Browse the results (opportunities) that will show up, by chronological order of posting;
6. Spread the word about your failures and achievements in grant requests. Yes, tell these stories too... They will enlighten and inspire your network;
7. Share the opportunities that do not apply to you but can interest others;
