Call for Proposals for 2022 Local Transformation Projects – Egypt

The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Cairo has announced a call for proposals of the 2022 “Local Transformation Projects” financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic within the framework of the Czech Republic transition and human rights cooperation, aimed to support local NGOs quest for support of human rights and democracy.

The aim of the project is to support local implementer´s activities in the following areas:
a) Supporting civil society, including human rights defenders;
b) Promoting freedom of expression and information, including freedom of the media;
c) Promoting an equal and full political and public participation;
d) Supporting institution-building in the area of the rule of law;
e) Promoting equality and non-discrimination;
f) Promoting human rights in employment and the environmental context.

Eligibility Criteria:
1. A project can only be proposed and implemented by a local entity that has legal subjectivity in Egypt (NGOs, networks, platforms, umbrella organizations of NGOs).
2. One organization may apply for one project only.

The financial contribution for a project is up to 500,000 CZK (approx. 19,500 EUR).

Implementation of the project activities – about 10 months (December 2021 – October 2022).

All applications have to be sent to the Embassy of the Czech Republic in electronic form no later than Saturday 16 October 2021.

All the documents must be submitted in Czech or English.

Friendly reminders:
1. Find and analyze open and closed grants opportunities that interest you. Try to discover:
• what they have in common, and
• how you can think ahead / plan to apply = increase your chances of success!
2. Gather or update paperwork (certificates, attests, statements, resumes, etc.) and information usually required by calls such this one;
3. Write - baby steps... - and discuss a project draft, to validate within your group the priorities of the proposal(s) and to train your grant writing skills as well;
4. Do not wait to find a call and then start writing your proposal / project. Start NOW!

b) Type the name of your country in the search area (blank space); click enter;
c) Click on Filters;
d) Click on Resource;
e) Browse the results (opportunities) that will show up, by chronological order of posting;
