Are you ready to be part of the biggest movement in Southeast Asia for climate action?

The YSEALI Summit 2022 is an assembly of Southeast Asian youths just like you to bring forth science, solutions, and solidarity for a livable future.

The Summit is designed as a platform to accelerate concerted action from the youths and build their capacity for navigating the complexity of climate issues in Southeast Asia.

The Summit is set to deliver an interactive, hands-on, and immersive learning experience to all participants while embracing a competitive environment.

The YSEALI Summit: “Empowering Technology for a Greener Future” is inviting YOU to join a highly impactful program with online pre-Summit activities, 3-day workshop, and post-Summit engagements.

The in-person Summit will be confirmed in February 2022, depending on the pandemic situation at the time.

The science, consequences, and solutions have never been clearer.

Humanity is embarking on a technological revolution.

As we continue to connect in new ways, we must reconnect to the Earth.

We can save the planet from warming up.

We have the technology and career paths that drastically help the environment, but we need YOU.

Utilize This Offer

To be eligible, participants must be:
1. between 18-35 years at the time of the application;
2. citizens and residents of an ASEAN member country (Brunei, Burma, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Laos, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam) or Timor-Leste;
c) proficient in reading, writing and speaking English (TOEFL exam results not required);
d) able to demonstrate interest in climate change mitigation and adaptation, renewable energy, green technologies, and environmental leadership;
e) able to arrange their own travel visa to Brunei.

What’s at the Summit?
• 80 emerging young leaders to kickstart green recovery;
• 5 teams to each win USD 2,000 worth in Seed Funds;
• 12 participants to join 2-Month Career Fellowship.

If you are selected, you will engage with diverse regional leaders in various master classes on tackling climate change. This presents an unparalleled opportunity for sharing, learning and collaborating.

To further expand your talents, selected applicants will also take part in interactive sessions aiming to strengthen soft skills, professional development, support green recovery, and build collaborations for collective impact.

Friendly reminders:
1. Find and analyze open and closed grants opportunities that interest you. Try to discover:
• what they have in common, and
• how you can think ahead / plan to apply = increase your chances of success!
2. Gather or update paperwork (certificates, attests, statements, resumes, letters of recommendation, etc.) and information usually required by calls such this one.
3. Write - baby steps... - and discuss a project draft, to validate within your group the priorities of the proposal(s) and to train your grant writing skills as well.
4. Do not wait to find a call and then start writing your proposal / project. Start NOW!
5. Do visit regularly the World Pulse website to make customized searches for grant opportunities. How?
a) Click on the Menu (left upper corner);
b) Type the name of your country in the search area (blank space); click enter;
c) Click on Filters;
d) Click on Resource;
e) Browse the results (opportunities) that will show up, by chronological order of posting.
6. Spread the word about your failures and achievements in grant requests. Yes, tell these stories too... They will enlighten and inspire your network.
7. Share the opportunities that do not apply to you but can interest others.
