Skills for Life programme: empowering disadvantaged youth in India

For 2017, the grant size available for each project is between INR 25 lakhs and INR 75 lakhs for a project duration of 12 to 18 months.

Swades Foundation and HSBC India welcome proposals from NGOs, for skills training projects that have specific emphasis on empowering youth (15 – 25 years) from disadvantaged communities.

The program focuses on employment and entrepreneurship-linked skill development of disadvantaged youth, upskilling of teachers and educators, and women’s empowerment through financial education and livelihood enhancement. See:

Applicant organizations must: - be a registered not for profit entity in India; - have annual reports and audited financial statements for the last 3 years; - have at least a three year track record of implementing skills building projects or working with disadvantaged youth.
