The Henry Smith Charity is an independent grant making trust.

The aim of its Holiday Grants Programme is to provide access to recreational trips or holidays for groups of children who experience disadvantage or who have disabilities.

Length: One-off short grants.
The grant size will be £500 – £2,500.
Funding covers: Short holidays and recreational trips.
Date/s of trip in 2019: 1 Sept – 31 Dec.

Eligibility Criteria
1. Schools, youth groups, not for profit organisations and charities are all eligible to apply.
2. The trust prioritizes applications that will benefit disadvantaged or disabled children living in the most deprived areas of the UK.

We cannot fund overseas trips or holidays, trips for children over the age of 13, trip to pantomimes, theme parks or similar high cost attractions, trips that focus on education rather than fun, multiple trips, trips for families or for individual children, or the running costs of play or holiday schemes.

1. Study similar calls (open and closed ones) that interest you to discover what they have in common and how you can think ahead/plan to apply;
2. Prepare/update paperwork (certificates and atests usually required from an organization like yours);
3. Write (baby steps...!) and discuss a project draft - to validate the priorities within your group and to train your grant writing skills.
4. Do not wait to find a call and then start writing your oroposal/project. Start now!!!
