Sport Access Foundation (SAF) Grants for Children and Young People with a Disability (in Australia)

The aim of the SAF grants is to provide financial assistance to help children and teenagers with a physical or intellectual disability to participate in sporting activities that are otherwise beyond the financial means of their family.

1) Apply for an Individual Grant if you are:
a) 7 -17 years old in this calendar year
b) living with a physical or intellectual disability
c) an Australian citizen or permanent resident and are residing in Australia.

2) Apply for a Club/Program Grant if you:
a) are a registered sporting club or program
b) have children with a disability aged 7-17 as their members or want to enable them to join.

Benefits include the costs of:
a) travelling to/from sporting events and training
b) participating in sporting events including participation, entry or enrollment fees
c) the purchase of specialist sport equipment or clothing
d) the purchase of protective or adaptive equipment
e) developing an appropriate sporting program for that child.

2. Prepare/update paperwork (certificates and atests usually required from an organization like yours);
3. Write (baby steps...!) and discuss a project draft - to validate the priorities within your group and to train your grant writing skills.
4. Do not wait to find a call and then start writing your oroposal/project. Start now!!!
