The European Union (EU) is accepting proposals for a program entitled “European Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights (EIDHR) Country-Based Support Scheme (CBSS) for Uganda 2018 – 2019”.

The Program is divided onto 2 lots:
Lot I: Upholding the rights of women and girls, and in particular tackling the problem of violence against women and children.
Lot II: Supporting the increased resilience of human rights defenders (HRDs), especially HRDs who are most at risk.

In order to be eligible for a grant, the lead applicant must be:
1. a legal person
2. non-profit-making
3. a specific type of organisation such as defined by the rules of application of the EU Financial Regulation;
4. established in a EU Member State or any other country. Where the lead applicant is not established it must act with a minimum one co-applicant established in Uganda.

Grant requested under this call for proposals must fall between: Minimum amount: EUR250,000.00 - Maximum amount: EUR 350,000.00.

The application procedure consists of two phases: a) Concept notes; b) Full applications.
The concept note together with the declaration by the lead applicant must be submitted as the first phase application.
