IIDEA inviting Organizations with Innovative Projects in East Africa

The Incubator for Integration and Development in East Africa (IIDEA):
a) is an initiative which incubates small-scale regional integration projects, proposed and implemented by civil society, private sector and other interest groups in East Africa. It is cross-border in nature with projects involving at least two EAC Partner States;
b) is inviting organizations with innovative projects and the capacity to implement them to submit their applications for support, in particular projects in the following areas: Health, Innovation in ICT, Agriculture, Trade and Tourism;
c) provides technical and financial support for implementation and marketing of eligible projects;
d) is implemented jointly with the East African Community Secretariat and the German Development Cooperation implemented by GIZ.

The East African Community (EAC) is the regional intergovernmental organization of the Republics of Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania.

Utilize This Offer

Expected results: 30,000 EAC citizens (out of which 12,000 youth and 10,000 women) have used products and services provided by IIDEA projects.

Concept Note applications from women’s rights, women-led, and small women’s organizations will be prioritized.

Friendly reminders:
1. Study similar calls (open and closed ones) that interest you to discover what they have in common and how you can think ahead/plan to apply;
2. Prepare/update paperwork (certificates and atests usually required from an organization like yours);
3. Write (baby steps...!) and discuss a project draft - to validate the priorities within your group and to train your grant writing skills.
4. Do not wait to find a call and then start writing your oroposal/project. Start now!!!

6; Share the opportunities that may not apply to you but can interest others.
7. Spread the word about your failures and achievements in grant requests - tell these stories too. They will enlighten and inspire the sisterhood.
