The International Center for Not-for-Profit Law (ICNL):
> works with governments, civil society, and the international community in more than 100 countries to improve the legal environment for civic society and public participation around the world
> believes that when people have the space to come together, positive, lasting change can be made
> seeks proposals to protect online freedoms in Iraq
> invites proposals from Iraq-based CSOs that seek to protect the freedoms of expression and association online. In particular, it seeks to support work to ensure that new laws regulating online activity protect these rights.

Applicants must submit the following items in English or Arabic:
1. Application coversheet
2. Proposal - no more than 5 pages
3. Resumes/CVs of leading project staff
4. Background information about the applicant organization or educational institution (e.g. website links or informational materials)
5. Line item budget from $5,000-$10,000.

Eligibility: civil society organizations (CSOs) from Iraq that defend against regulatory restrictions on digital platforms, online searches, or other online activities.

Friendly reminders:
1. Study similar calls (open and closed ones) that interest you to discover what they have in common and how you can think ahead/plan to apply;
2. Prepare/update paperwork (certificates and atests usually required from an organization like yours);
3. Write (baby steps...!) and discuss a project draft - to validate the priorities within your group and to train your grant writing skills.
4. Do not wait to find a call and then start writing your oroposal/project. Start now!!!
