The Leeds Building Society Foundation has launched its grant program to support the local projects and good causes across the UK, which relieve suffering, hardship or poverty.

The Foundation
1) is funded by Leeds Building Society and its members through the applicant’s Interest in theirs scheme
2) is run independently by a board of six trustees who review applications every quarter
3) primarily provides funding towards practical items that directly support those in need including those with disabilities, affected by homelessness, or with serious health issues
4) usually funds items of “capital expenditure”. That means items must directly help those in need, rather than contributing to the charity’s running costs
5) accepts applications from UK registered charities, or those affiliated with a registered charity.

Friendly reminders:
1. Study similar calls (open and closed ones) that interest you to discover what they have in common and how you can think ahead/plan to apply;
2. Prepare/update paperwork (certificates and atests usually required from an organization like yours);
3. Write (baby steps...!) and discuss a project draft - to validate the priorities within your group and to train your grant writing skills.
4. Do not wait to find a call and then start writing your oroposal/project. Start now!!!
5. Visit the World Pulse website >>> My Pulse >>> Resources and use its filters (right upper corner) to find what really suits you.
6; Share the opportunities that may not apply to you but can interest others.
7. Spread the word about your failures and achievements in grant requests - tell these stories too. They will enlighten and inspire the sisterhood.
