The U.S. Embassy Kyiv of the U.S. Department of State has announced an open competition for applications to coordinate and execute 16 Ukraine Press Tours over 24 months (from Fall 2019 to Spring 2020).

Its objectiveis to improve the accuracy of European reporting on Ukraine, away from false narratives and towards fact-based reporting that reflects the current political, economic and social realities in the country.

Each Press Tour:
a) group will consist of an average of 4 European journalists, as well as accompanying staff members from the grantee in charge of preparing the Press Tour. Journalists may come from print, television, or social media backgrounds; the grantee will not be responsible for selecting individual journalist participants
b) will last 3-5 days.

Eligible Applicants: Ukrainian not-for-profit organizations, including think tanks and civil society/nongovernmental organizations.

Award amount: up tp US$200,000.

Anticipated program start date: Sep 1, 2019.

1. Study similar calls (open and closed ones) that interest you to discover what they have in common and how you can think ahead/plan to apply;
2. Prepare/update paperwork (certificates and atests usually required from an organization like yours);
3. Write (baby steps...!) and discuss a project draft - to validate the priorities within your group and to train your grant writing skills.
