The Private Enterprise Development in Low-Income Countries (PEDL) Initiative is pleased to announce a special call through its Special Exploratory Research Grant (ERG) program for projects addressing climate change and social compliance.

ERGs are:
1, designed to be contracted directly with individual researchers. The individual researcher will be responsible for receiving, spending and reporting on funds. There should be no institutional involvement;
2. of up to £50,000;
3. to cover expenditures related to research (assistance, field work, travel and other directly related expenditures) of projects of up to 12 months.

Examples of topics relevant for this call are
- The impact of environmental regulations on firm performances
- The impact of climate and pollution on worker productivity.

This call encourages proposals that address the following cross-cutting issues
a) Fragile and Conflict Afflicted States;
b) Gender;
c) Unlocking Data for Understanding Markets and Firms.

Utilize This Offer

Eligible countries: Low-Income Countries (LICs) and Lower-Middle Income Countries (MICs) as defined by the PEDL Programme.

Only individuals can apply.

Applications must be submitted online by 11.59pm GMT on September 16, 2019.

1. Study similar calls (open and closed ones) that interest you to discover what they have in common and how you can think ahead/plan to apply = increase your chances of success!
2. Prepare/update paperwork (certificates and atests usually required from an organization like yours);
3. Write (baby steps...!) and discuss a project draft - to validate the priorities within your group and to train your grant writing skills.
4. Do not wait to find a call and then start writing your oroposal/project. Start now!!!
