Australia: Scanlon Foundation’s Annual Community Grants Round for 2019

The Scanlon Foundation’s annual community grants round for 2019 will fund projects that demonstrate their contribution to social cohesion by:
a) Building pathways to employment; or
b) Increasing applied English literacy.

Projects:
1. should consider the experience of migrants and of receiving communities and aim to nurture positive outcomes;
2. must be located in one of the following Local Government Areas outside Victoria:
- New South Wales: Blacktown, Canterbury-Bankstown, Cumberland, Fairfield, Liverpool, Parramatta, or Wollongong.
- Queensland: Brisbane, Inala, Ipswich, Logan, Rockhampton, or Townsville.
I- Western Australia: Canning, Stirling, or Wanneroo.
- South Australia: Murray Bridge, Playford, Port Adelaide Enfield, or Salisbury.
- Tasmania: Glenorchy;
3. must be submitted by organisations with DGR 1 status.

All submissions are also expected to empower new arrival communities and develop cross cultural connections.

Funding: up to a maximum of $25,000.

Applications will close at 12pm midnight on Thursday 12 September 2019.

Friendly reminders:
1. Study similar calls (open and closed ones) that interest you to discover what they have in common and how you can think ahead/plan to apply = increase your chances of success!
2. Prepare/update paperwork (certificates and atests usually required from an organization like yours);
3. Write (baby steps...!) and discuss a project draft - to validate the priorities within your group and to train your grant writing skills;
4. Do not wait to find a call and then start writing your oroposal/project. Start now!!!
5. Visit the World Pulse website >>> My Pulse >>> Resources and then use its filters (right upper corner) to find what may really suit you;
6; Share the opportunities that may not apply to you but can interest others;
7. Spread the word about your failures and achievements in grant requests; yes, tell these storiies too... - they will enlighten and inspire your network.
