The Woodroffe Benton Foundation provides small grants only in respect of:
a) Relief of persons in need, hardship or distress by reason of disaster or as a consequence of social or economic circumstance;
b) Provision/Maintenance of care and accommodation for the sick and elderly;
c) Promotion of education – in particular within the Derbyshire region;
d) Environmental Conservation/Preservation/Protection/Improvement – in particular where this would encourage the provision of access by members of the general public;;
e) Human physical well-being. Applicants should note that funding in this area is proactive and the trustees will not make grants in response to unsolicited applications.

Applicants:
1. must be officially recognised charitable organisations within the United Kingdom, registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales, the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator or the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland;
2. may be any UK educational institution.

Applicants to Small Grants programme can receive one-off grants in the range £500 to £2,500.

Focus: to support smaller charities since modest donations are capable of providing potentially greater benefit.

Application deadline: 25 September 2019.

1. Study similar calls (open and closed ones) that interest you to discover what they have in common and how you can think ahead/plan to apply = increase your chances of success!
2. Prepare/update paperwork (certificates and atests usually required from an organization like yours);
3. Write (baby steps...!) and discuss a project draft - to validate the priorities within your group and to train your grant writing skills;
4. Do not wait to find a call and then start writing your oroposal/project. Start now!!!
