The Daniele Tamagni Grant is an international Photography Grant with funding for a Scholarship for higher education and is designed to sponsor young and emerging photographers.

The spirit of this initiative promotes the dissemination of the African culture, its creativity, the impact of its visual aesthetics on the continent and the diaspora and the in-depth exploration of the photography media.

- A return Economy class air-ticket from the place of residence to Johannesburg, ZA
- Assistance in the visa application
- Health and Repatriation Medical Insurance for the length of the Scholarship
- Monthly bursary of 9,000 ZAR (accommodation, meals, transport / out of pocket expenses)
- Curation of a new body of work to be developed to be presented to the 2020 Festival Visa pour l’Image (in Perpignan, France)

Applicants must be:
1) between 18-30 years by July 31st 2019
2) the sole author of the photographs
3) the owner of the proprietary rights in the photographs.

Friendly reminders:
1. Study similar calls (open and closed ones) that interest you to discover what they have in common and how you can think ahead/plan to apply = increase your chances of success!
2. Prepare/update paperwork (certificates and atests usually required from an organization like yours);
3. Write (baby steps...!) and discuss a project draft - to validate the priorities within your group and to train your grant writing skills;
4. Do not wait to find a call and then start writing your oroposal/project. Start now!!!

6; Share the opportunities that may not apply to you but can interest others;
7. Spread the word about your failures and achievements in grant requests; yes, tell these storiies too... - they will enlighten and inspire your network.
