“Photography 4 Humanity” is an international initiative that calls on photographers around the world to bring to life the power of human rights through their images.

Their esteemed jury is looking for compelling, dynamic and impactful images that tell the story of the challenges facing those people living in human rights crisis zones as well as photos of hope that depict the heroes working to deliver solutions to the difficult realities in their regions.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
All photography must
a) relate to human rights issues illustrating courage, despair, hope, injustice, hate, compassion, human rights failures or victories in ways small and large
b) be taken within 3 years of entry date,

The winner of the Prize will
- be announced on UN Human Rights Day in conjunction with the opening of the Photography 4 Humanity Exhibition at the UN Headquarters
- receive a $5,000 USD cash prize and will have their photo promoted in all relevant media worldwide.

All rights to photography remain with the photographer.

The Top 10 finalists' photos will be exhibited at the United Nations General Assembly Gallery in New York City.

Friendly reminders:
1. Study similar calls (open and closed ones) that interest you to discover what they have in common and how you can think ahead/plan to apply = increase your chances of success!
2. Prepare/update paperwork (certificates and atests usually required from an organization like yours);
3. Write (baby steps...!) and discuss a project draft - to validate the priorities within your group and to train your grant writing skills;
4. Do not wait to find a call and then start writing your oroposal/project. Start now!!!

6; Share the opportunities that may not apply to you but can interest others;
7. Spread the word about your failures and achievements in grant requests; yes, tell these storiies too... - they will enlighten and inspire your network.
