Proposals must address one of the 3 U.S. foreign policy objectives:
1) Empowering Women and Girls – Projects enhance or support empowerment of women and girls through educational, entrepreneurship, health, or professional development opportunities;
2) Supporting Civil Society Organizations – Projects (i) strengthen management and public engagement capacity of civil society organizations and promote political and civil participation; ii) enhance government accountability and information access for the public; or (iii) promote exchange and cooperation with U.S. higher education institutions;
3) Enabling Business Environment – Projects (i) promote or develop best practices in business and entrepreneurship for youth and create or strengthen networking among youth entrepreneurs; (i) promote Botswana’s transition to a knowledge-based economy, including activities in research and development; or (i) increase Botswana’s awareness and utilization of the African Growth and Opportunity Act.

Utilize This Offer

Requests must be no more than US$25,000 per proposal and for a duration of up to one year.
The award is open only to registered not-for-profit groups, associations, NGOs, faith- or community-based organizations.

Friendly reminders:
1. Study similar calls (open and closed ones) that interest you to discover what they have in common and how you can think ahead/plan to apply = increase your chances of success!
2. Prepare/update paperwork (certificates and atests usually required from an organization like yours);
3. Write (baby steps...!) and discuss a project draft - to validate the priorities within your group and to train your grant writing skills;
4. Do not wait to find a call and then start writing your oroposal/project. Start now!!!
5. Visit the World Pulse website >>> My Pulse >>> Resources and then use its filters (right upper corner) to find what may really suit you;
6; Share the opportunities that may not apply to you but can interest others;
7. Spread the word about your failures and achievements in grant requests; yes, tell these storiies too... - they will enlighten and inspire your network.
