2020 Study of the U.S. Institutes (SUSIs) for Student Leaders on Women’s Leadership Program (Uzbekistan)

The five-week Institutes will:
a) consist of a balanced series of seminar discussions, readings, group presentations, and lectures;
b) provide coursework and classroom activities complemented by educational travel, site visits, leadership activities, and volunteer opportunities within the local community;
c) include a four-week academic residency component and a one-week integrated study tour. During the academic residency, participants will also have the opportunity to engage in educational and cultural activities outside of the classroom.

Benefits:
> All participant costs will be covered by the program (visa and travel fees, housing and food, and incidental allowances);
> All participants will receive medical insurance for the duration of the program.

Applicants must:
1. be female
2. be proficient in English
3. be interested in the topic of Women’s Leadership
4. be aged between 18 - 25
5. have at least one semester left of their undergraduate studies (Bachelor degree)

SUSIs for Student Leaders are intensive short-term academic programs whose purpose is to provide groups of undergraduate student leaders with a deeper understanding of the US while simultaneously enhancing their leadership skills.

1. Study similar calls (open and closed ones) that interest you to discover what they have in common and how you can think ahead/plan to apply = increase your chances of success!
2. Prepare/update paperwork (certificates and atests usually required from an organization like yours);
3. Write (baby steps...!) and discuss a project draft - to validate the priorities within your group and to train your grant writing skills;
4. Do not wait to find a call and then start writing your oroposal/project. Start now!!!
