
Melania is a small Dutch foundation, which focuses on the financial support of micro-projects for low income women in certain countries in Africa, Asia, and Latin America.
Eligibility criteria:
1. The project should originate from a local initiative, taken by several (organized) women and should aim to improve their economic and/or social position;
2. The project is in the field of income-generating activities.
3. The project is directed towards low income women’s groups.
4. The women’s group is responsible for project planning and implementation and is prepared to keep a line of communication with Melania.
5. The financial contribution of Melania facilitates the start of the project: the project has the ability to become self-supportive in 2-3 years.
If your project suits Melania’s project criteria, you may submit your application.

Melania invites and reviews project applications.
Melania selects and proposes some of these projects to Dutch women’s groups for requested financial support.

1. Study similar calls (open and closed ones) that interest you to discover what they have in common and how you can think ahead/plan to apply = increase your chances of success!
2. Prepare/update paperwork (certificates and attests usually required from an organization like yours);
3. Write (baby steps...!) and discuss a project draft - to validate the priorities within your group and to train your grant writing skills;
4. Do not wait to find a call and then start writing your proposal/project. Start now!!!
